DEBRA VASQUEZ (Clerk, Board of Directors) first attended St. Luke’s MCC in December 1994, and subsequently became a member in June 1996. She is a native and current resident of St. Marys, Georgia (Yes, she makes that commute every Sunday!) She was most recently employed with the Florida-Georgia Blood Alliance, after working for the Gilman/Durango Paper Company for 30 years until the plant closed in 2004.
Debra and her partner, Ayn (also a member of St. Luke’s), have been together since 1995. They share their home with two-year old rescued schnoodle (part schnauzer/part poodle) named Nellie.
In addition to her past professional experience, Debra also earned an Associate’s Degree from Coastal Georgia Community College, and is presently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Florida. Her ministry with St. Luke’s MCC has included serving as worship assistant in various roles (celebrant, communion server, Scripture reader, usher and prayer leader), past manager of the Risen Christ Bookstore, Pastoral Search Team, and Alternate Lay Delegate (2005). |
